Poor mental health can lead to decreased productivity, absenteeism, and presenteeism—the latter where employees are physically present but mentally disengaged. According to a study, depression alone costs U.S. employers approximately $187.8 billion annually, including $134 billion in health care, $20.9 billion in absenteeism, and $32.9 billion in lost productivity and high turnover rates. High employee turnover, driven by workplace stress and burnout, disrupts workflow and incurs substantial recruitment and training costs.
